A kiss on the lips nearly killed a mom's baby to death

Our mothers are the first person to caress us when we were young, but what if the first touch or first kiss that a mother gave to his new born baby is the reason why the baby would have sickness and pass away? How painful would it be if the one who gave life to the baby would also be the reason why the innocent baby's life would be in danger?

A mother is speaking out and warning others after her newborn baby nearly died after receiving a kiss from a visitor shortly after her birth.

Claire Henderson gave birth to her adorable and healthy baby girl, but after 11 days, she was also the reason why her little angel almost passed away.

Clare Henderson, from Doncaster, has shared a photograph of the shocking affliction her baby suffered on Facebook, after being kissed by a visitor after her birth.

She claims that her newborn could have died after contracting oral herpes from the kiss.

Many visitors came to see her after she gave birth, and one of them must have been a carrier of the herpes virus.

At only one-month-old, baby Brooke had many people visit her after her birth, and according to Henderson, received kisses from them.

According to media reports, Brooke was rushed to the hospital immediately after Henderson noticed the blisters. She was tested for brain and liver damage (which tests cleared her of) and hospitalized for 5 days.

Claire Henderson's little girl Brooke was forced to spend five days in hospital with horrific sores and she sent a heartfelt Facebook message to other parents.

She wrote: "Please share this with every new mum and pregnant woman you know... COLD SORES CAN BE FATAL FOR A BABY. Before 3 months old a baby cannot fight the herpes virus. If a baby contracts this it can cause liver and brain damage and lead to death. I know this sounds like I am scaremongering but if my friend had not told me about this my baby girl could have been very seriously ill. I noticed the signs early and got her to A&E, we have now been in hospital on a drip for 3 days and have got another 2 to go. She was VERY lucky, all her tests came back clear. The moral of the story is DO NOT let anyone kiss your newborns mouth, even if they don't look like they have a cold sore- 85% of the population carry the virus. And if someone had a cold sore ask them to stay away until it has gone. Everyone who I have spoken to had not heard of this before and so I felt it was important to share Brooke's story and raise awareness to stop anyone else going through what we have this week."
